TWO NEW RELEASES!!

Two new singles from Red Queen Records (that's us) are out now!!!

"United (Angels' Anthem)" and "Relentless" are available now on all major music platforms.

"United (Angels' Anthem) conveys the idea that all people are one. It draws upon Spiritual concepts from various faiths and backgrounds, including the idea that the Divine is not only everywhere, but is within Us and a part of Us - and as such, we can say (philosophically) that we are all part of each other. It's ancient mystical wisdom. The lyric is delivered from the perspective of a fleet of Angels coming to heal the world. These warrior Angels are here to ensure that Love will win.

"Relentless" is about the power of Love. Love will always win, and trying to fight it is a losing battle. The lyric is delivered from the perspective of Love herself (apparently I just made Love a "she"). If Love could speak, she might say something like this...

There is so much to tell you about the songs, the journey, the artwork, the upcoming videos and more! We will be posting all kinds of fun things in the weeks and months to come. Why on earth did we release TWO songs in two days? (Thinking...) Probably because doing one thing at a time is just not something I can do??? Because I LIKE making an impossible amount of work the norm? Because sleeping at night is totally overrated? SMH.

In reality, I think it has more to do with the times. It's the message. Millions of people are talking about how crazy these times are now. We feel like these songs convey a message and a Spirit that needs to be heard and felt. Now. Right now.

We thank you in advance for liking and sharing and being a part of spreading messages of Love and Unity.

Love,
T

A Little Prayer...

Today I bought a little prayer book titled "A Book of Healing Prayer." I was looking for some prayers to say for a relative going through some health challenges. The book is a compilation of prayer submissions from people who have served as healers at The Healing Temple at the Spiritualist community of Lily Dale, New York. Proceeds from sales of the book will go toward improving and renovating The Healing Temple there. The book includes "verse and prayers of many religions, ancient and modern, that embrace the diversity of our world. Spiritualism believes that Spiritual Healing is available to all life." I sat down and read it from cover to cover. All the quotes used here are taken from it.

As I read through all the prayers, I was keenly reminded of how much we are all alike. There are words written from people all over the world. Sentiments from people of different cultures and from different times - all seeking comfort, love, peace and understanding.

When I look at the statistics of people who read this blog, sometimes I am astounded at the worldwide audience. This week alone, there have been views from Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Ireland, Germany, Mauritius, Portugal and Saudi Arabia. I am so grateful to be able to connect here with brothers and sisters from around the world!

It occurs to me that as I seek out prayers for an ailing relative, people all over the world are doing the same thing for theirs. My hope this week is that we can all say a prayer or two keeping each other in mind. There are so many of us searching for the same thing - healing, love, peace, understanding - and asking for it in the quiet of our own hearts. May we remember that we are many. May that give us strength and reassurance.

"God Is Love

With bended knees, with hands outstretched,
do I yearn for the effective expression of the
Holy Spirit working within me.

For this love and understanding, truth and justice;
for wisdom to know the apparent from the real
that I might alleviate the sufferings of men on earth...

God is love, understanding, wisdom, and virtue.
Let us love one another, let us practice mercy and forgiveness,
let us have peace, born of fellow-feeling...

Let my joy be of altruistic living, of doing good to others.
Happiness is unto him from whom happiness
proceeds to any other human being."
- Zoroastrian Prayer

"O Great Spirit
Help me always speak the truth quietly,
to listen with an open mind when others speak
and to remember the peace that may be found in silence."
- Cherokee Prayer

"For those who have asked us to pray for them,
For those that we have promised to pray for,
For those that have no one to pray for them,
May they know the embrace of God's healing touch and love.
Amen"
 - Anonymous

"I ask the Great Unseen Healing Force to remove
all obstructions from my mind and body
and to restore me to perfect health.
I ask this in all sincerity and honesty
and I will do my part.

I ask the Great Unseen Healing Force
to help both present and absent ones who are
in need of help and to restore them to
perfect health.

I put my trust in the Love and Power of God."
- Spiritualist Prayer for Healing

Loving Spoonful...

Sign me up for Hogwarts! I have taken a workshop in "Spoon Bending" and have successfully bent spoons.

It was an exercise in mind over matter. The greater purpose was to help us realize the artificial limitations we place on ourselves and provide practice in breaking these barriers. (If I can do this to forks and spoons with my bare hands, imagine what I can do to heal my body and soul!)

If you look up "spoon bending" and the related "psychokinesis" you'll find much criticism, skepticism, and evidence of trickery from illusionists.

"For those who believe, no proof is necessary.
For those who don't believe, no proof is possible."
- Stuart Chase

I don't know how we did it exactly, but almost all of us in Ron Nagy's class did in fact bend our spoons. We used our minds and gentle pressure from our hands. We had been instructed to bring our own stainless steel or silver plated spoons. I brought some new and used stainless, and additional silver plated ones were provided to me after I had already bent my own.

Here's the thing... It doesn't matter to me if there is or is not scientific proof or explanation. If the outcome of the exercise is our enhanced confidence in our own abilities to Heal and Empower ourselves, then it is real. If we use that confidence to positively improve our health and well-being, then we have been effectively guided toward love. Therein lies a miracle, a change in perception for the express purpose of our highest good.

"Whether you think you can,
or you think you can't - you're right."
- Henry Ford

"Man is what he believes."
- Anton Chekhov

There were more workshops in Spirituality and Healing as I immersed myself in studies on those subjects over the weekend at Lily Dale, the "World's Largest Center for the Science Philosophy and Religion of Spiritualism." Click here for Lily Dale's Home Page. I AM always grateful for the healthy dose of peace and serenity I experience there. This quote from A Course in Miracles was mentioned by medium John White, who also reminded us that there is only love and fear - and only love is real.

"Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists."
- A Course in Miracles

Our personal journeys toward our greatest potential are filled with the most amazing moments! Self empowerment and the awareness of pure love can feel absolutely magical. It feels like we're at the place where illusion ends and the real magic begins... Thank you - to all who bring loving spoonfuls and help us on our way.

Playing with Fire

Really?  I'm going to write about "playing with fire" on a day when the tri-state area (and entire northeastern seaboard for that matter) is expecting the worst snowstorm in... EVER... to blanket the area causing widespread power outages and a general state of panic among residents?  Yes.  Yes I am.

Last week I played with fire.  I pushed myself too hard and I paid for it.  I tried to do the impossible and I got burned.  This past week was all about healing from that experience and taking away a lesson from it.  I know where I went wrong.  I didn't want to let go of anything.

After attending two shows in Buffalo that I really did not want to miss, I had to drive all night to get back to the NYC area in order to make a Monday morning appointment.  I finally slept for a few hours on Monday afternoon, but then kept on working until 2am.  Tuesday, I ended up in the doctor's office with a sore throat.

Fine.  It was time to slow down and rest.  I took my antibiotics and settled in for the healing process.  I had plenty of time to reflect on how my unwillingness to let go of anything had made me sick, and how that can happen.  I refused to miss those shows and I also refused to miss my appointment four hundred miles away.  I knew I was past the breaking point and still I kept pushing to get things accomplished and make deadlines that I had set for myself.  I did not listen to my better judgement.  I felt absolutely lousy and knew I had done it to myself.  I actually apologized for it to the doctor when he walked in.  "I did this to myself - sorry" I said, as he frowned at me questioningly.

I think that we all do this to ourselves, to varying degrees, more than we realize.  In my case last week it was obvious, but sometimes it's not that plain to see.  What about when we don't let go of things and the consequences are not so bad?  In what other ways do we allow toxins to slowly seep into our lives?  When else do we smack down the voice of our better judgment?  How does the fact that we do those things contribute to our overall health and well being?  Could we be making ourselves sick this way, but slowly and almost imperceptibly?  Is complacency our biggest enemy?  What do we put up with, instead of letting go of, that could be contributing to making us sick - or at the very least, contributing to us not living up to our full potential?  What attitudes do we hold on to that might be, in reality, holding us back?  In what other ways do we sabotage ourselves, or play with fire?

What about toxic relationships? (Ding, ding, ding - the number one answer on the board.)  Does a toxic work environment exist? (LOL - the number two answer.)  How about when we don't stand up for ourselves or speak up for ourselves?  How often do we look the other way when we see injustice?  What about fear in general?  To what thing do we give away our power by remaining complacent?  (Serious questions.)  What are we so afraid of that we allow these various poisons to creep into our field of energy?  What forces are so strong within us, that we allow them to drown out the voice of our better judgment?  Why DO we allow that?  Can we change that habit?

Later in the week, I cancelled several activities in favor of restoring my health.  I put everything else aside and listened to my own better judgement.  I am now almost completely restored, but still taking it easy.

Maybe now is a good time to take a closer look at other fires I might be playing with - things that may make me sick, or otherwise hold me back - even if they don't burn me right away.

but it will destroy him with a kind of dry-rot in the long run."

Change Change Change...

Has the world gone mad?

I attended a meeting in the city where a woman stood up and wanted to discuss the rights of pixels.  Yes, pixels - the little dots that comprise the picture on your television and digital images everywhere.  Apparently, people worry about the rights of those little dots.  I was almost convinced the evening would prove to be a complete waste of time, and was teetering on the fence between amusement and irritation.  It seemed I had trudged my butt all the way into the city for no apparent reason.  Thankfully, my attitude turned all the way around when a lovely and perfectly sane casting director got up to speak.  She was inspirational and motivational.  I was fortunate enough to meet her and she invited me to submit my résumé to her.   Suddenly, I was launched forward into résumé updating, photo shoot scheduling and online submission forms, etc.  I felt good leaving the city that night and had a nice sense of accomplishment.  It turned out to be a wonderful way to start the week after all.  I fully expected this blog to be about forcing yourself to just put one foot in front of the other until something makes sense, as it had done that night (Just keep going!  One step at a time...), but as the week evolved that idea changed.

It was a busy week of travel and photo shoots, but I also managed to spend some time in nature...

"Speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee."
- Job 12:8

I don't normally think of this as my favorite time of year.  It seems kind of depressing when it gets cold and dark.  The winter coats come out of the closet and the patio furniture gets put away.  I start thinking about shoveling and I get the snowblower tuned up.  Air conditioners, bikes and summer dresses are put away.  (Sigh)  I wanted to get out and take some pictures of the pretty trees before all the leaves disappear.

Funny how nature reflects everything...

Change and growth...

The beauty of things...

The climb...

Out of the darkness and into the light...

The sometimes ominous look of things...

The fork in the road...

Crossing that bridge when we get to it...

Everything I saw inspired thought.  I thought about that fence between amusement and irritation and how easy it is to go over the brink.  I thought about falling back (just like the clocks) into old habits and how effortless it is to just write off other people when we don't understand them.  (I'd been battling irritation all week and posted this link on Thursday:  "Sometimes, the first step toward forgiveness is realizing the other person was born an idiot" -DJTOD.)  I was searching for a way to keep from sinking into the negative and to keep a bright, positive spirit - even in the face of challenge.

On Sunday, I met the most wonderful and amazing woman.  She wrote a book, "From Stage IV to Center Stage."  She was diagnosed with stage IV cancer in her throat/neck, and was given three months to live.  Twenty-two months later, she sang the National Anthem at Fenway Park.  Nine years later, there I was, sitting in church listening to her story and hearing her say, "Challenges are nothing more than doorways to transformation."

"Denise DeSimone is an ordained interfaith minister, an inspirational/motivational speaker, a singer, and is also certified in multiple alternative healing modalities.  She is a wellness coach to cancer patients.  Denise also created Pray Peace, a multimedia offering of personal and global peace."
- from the back cover of her book, "From Stage IV to Center Stage"

I attended her workshop on sound healing and had a most wonderful experience.  Before beginning a guided meditation that utilized vibrational sound energy, we set deliberate "intentions" for the experience.  My intention was "love space" - the place of positive energy.  I don't want to be in a negative space, or think that other people are idiots, or waste ANY time being anything but joyous.  I know that we can transform any thought, any idea, any pattern.  I know we are capable of letting go of old ideas and habits, and capable of change.  I wanted to bring in the happy and the new, and weed out all sources of irritation at the core.  As Denise introduced us to sound healing, she spoke about how easy it can be to transform an irritating sound to the point that you don't even hear it.  :) :) :)

Perfect!!!!!

This week, I'll continue the meditation practices she taught us and learn more.  (I bought her book and her CD.)  I will not have to resort to thinking of anyone else in a less than favorable light just to make myself feel better.  I'll train myself to hear joyous sounds and see miracles everywhere.

"There are two ways to live:
You can live as if nothing is a miracle;
or you can live as if everything is a miracle."
- Albert Einstein

"We cannot love without evolving
and we cannot evolve without love."
- Denise DeSimone
