Disappointment. The Bills Game. Game Day. Incomplete Sentences.
Game day was filled with disappointment. Game aside, there was a preschooler meltdown, that inspired a mommy meltdown, a dinner that wasn't and THEN there was the game.
Even now as I write this, CNN's documentary series "Reframed: Marilyn Monroe" plays in the background, adding to the somber mood.
The bedtime routine required some reflection. We don't always win. We don't always get what we want. It's a part of life. What often defines someone's success though, is how one handles the disappointment that will inevitably come.
There are endless affirmations, positive thinking instructions, and posts guiding everyone toward happiness, peace and well being - but the hard fact remains. We need to handle disappointment. We need to know that it's there and that it's ok. It sucks. So what? Let it suck and keep going.
I may print that on a shirt.
Here's wishing us all an enduring Spirit, even when things don't go our way.
Love you all.
xo,
