Airport Preview - more to come

I am sitting at my gate at LAX (Los Angeles International Airport) waiting to board my flight back home. I do not have enough time to write a blog that will do the experience of this past weekend any justice, so this will be a preview. I'll have to write another blog this week.

In short, I had the ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE experience of singing background vocals behind Lady Gaga at the Oscars!!!

I just love working with these ladies!

Boarding time... Talk soon!

Back in #buffalove...

You know you're back in Buffalo when the airport shuttle driver says, "Oh. I'll call maintenance to come shovel you out."

:)

Sigh... So far away from the California sunshine...

It had been a long journey. I missed my flight out of Los Angeles the morning after The Grammys and couldn't get rescheduled until the redeye that night. My connecting flight was delayed by over an hour and a half. Airport maintenance was called to shovel out my car and my tires needed air from being in extreme cold weather. I nearly slid off the road to avoid hitting the car in front of me on the drive home.

But the instant I finally pulled in my driveway I received two separate texts from neighbors before I even shut off the engine... "Hi T!" and "Hey T." :)  (There's no place like home.) I texted other friends to let them know I had safely arrived home, adding "I love it here."

I picked up the dogs, who wasted no time at all getting back into the swing of things...

I saw my friends at Leon's...
With Leon of Leon Studio One
I ordered dinner from a saloon where the snowmobile helmets of patrons lined the wall shelves...

...and went with my cousin to something called a "Sportsman's Show" where I bought a ring made from a bent spoon and saw a live Snowy Owl who very much resembled Hedwig (from the Harry Potter books).

I'm exhausted. I haven't even been online since The Grammys and I still have pics from the after party to share. I'll catch up this week as much as possible.

Thank you all so much for your kind words and support and encouragement! I had an amazing and fantastic experience at The Grammys! It may top the list as Best Gig Ever! #Incredible

Music's Biggest Night

Words can scarcely express what an honor it is to be singing on stage for The Grammys, behind Nile Rodgers and Lady Gaga, for the David Bowie tribute, with a group of incredibly talented people.

I am absolutely filled with gratitude, appreciation and love for all the amazing people I've worked with over the years. I am truly Blessed to have found the very special musicians, singers and bands that have become family to me. It's been a most extraordinary journey.

Each of us has been touched by the spirit of music and its profound inspiration. When I sit and think of all those artists who have led our hearts and lives with their creativity, I am blown away. The world has lost many beautiful souls, many whom we have known personally.

Tonight, we'll remember David Bowie - and all those who have inspired us artistically.

Thank you. Thank you for all you have given us. You live on in our hearts.

During the "in memoriam" segment of tonight's show, our social media sites will post an a cappella portion of our song "Everywhere." It's our own personal tribute to those who have meant so much.

Have a Blessed week...

An Alarming Miracle...

I don't remember exactly what the dream was, but when I looked up the meaning in my dream book it meant "all that you need will be provided." That was before I left for L.A.

On my first night out here in California, I noticed that there were no electrical outlets near my bedside. Worried about my dependency on my phone being fully charged, and for the alarm on it to wake me in the morning, I searched for a solution. There seemed to be an outlet behind the bed, but it would not budge from the wall and the outlet could not be reached. I would also need to plug in my speaker and iPod, and the nearest source of electricity was all the way across the room and required moving furniture and disconnecting the television. "I need an outlet right here" I said aloud, motioning toward the nightstand. I thought we would have to buy an extension cord.

We were out all day the following day. When we finally arrived back to the room Russ asked, "Did you buy an alarm clock?" (No, I had not.) There on my nightstand was a brand new alarm clock with two outlets and two USB ports on it for charging. I had not mentioned a thing to any hotel staff, or to anyone at all for that matter.

There it was, right on my nightstand.

I remembered that dream's meaning... "Everything you need will be provided." I HAD said, "I need an outlet right here." BAM! There it was.

I looked up toward the sky, smiled and said, "Thank You."

Here's hoping that we all walk with faith this week, knowing that we have everything we really need.

P.S.
Three days later, I finally figured out how to get the alarm on that thing to stop going off at 6 AM every morning! LOL xoxo

Hero:

These past couple of weeks,  I've been sending out mass emails and links and posting things all to do with our song "SuperHero (Song for St. Jude)." Something seemed missing. There are so many people we know who we greatly admire, and are dear friends... a mass email felt impersonal. We sent them out that way so that they could be easily forwarded, but it still felt strange.

I remembered my intentions for the New Year about wanting to reach out and spend more quality time with loved ones. Why not spread some love? Why not reach out personally? Why not tell people how much I appreciate them? I started to send out copies of the song as gifts.

iTunes has a feature where you can either buy the song for yourself or "Gift This Album." You can also share on social media sites or copy the link.

In the weeks and months to come, we'll be working hard at spreading the word about the song and posting and sharing. We've only just begun this adventure. I will make it a point to keep in mind the spirit of the song and all the people who inspire me. I'll send out the song with a little note (you get a section to send a message when you "gift" the song to someone) and tell people how much they mean to me. I'll keep meeting new friends and share with them too.

I'm so grateful for all the heroes. All the people who inspire us have a profound ability to influence us in a most positive way. Thank you to the superhero kids at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, who inspire us so, and to all those who move our hearts toward appreciation and gratitude for all they do. You teach us so much! :)

Have a great week!
