Moments

Even in the midst of staying hopeful and positive, we can acknowledge our moments of grief or sadness. We've had to say goodbye to so many friends and loved ones; and to so much of life as we knew it before. We can give ourselves permission to feel what we feel - and still stay strong.

These are lyrics from my song "Everywhere." It's a reminder of how we carry the Spirit of those we love with us, always.

In my solitude
I sometimes think of you
Where I am lost, you'd know what to do
When I can't break free
Gripped by uncertainty
I go searching for some truth to comfort me

Deep in the night
When the answers come
I can smile
Feel the warmth of love rush through my soul
And I know, I know

I know that you're here
I feel you in the air
You're everywhere
And when I close my eyes
I can see so clear
That you are always here
You're everywhere with me

I'm filled with gratitude
Though you never truly knew
All you have done for me
Now I thank you
You have blessed me
Incredibly
Because of you, faith guides my destiny

I pray that you never doubt
What your life was all about
You touched us so
And I know
I know

I know that you're here
I feel you in the air
You're everywhere
And when I close my eyes
I can see so clear
That you are always here
You're everywhere with me

You stand with your wings
And all of these earthly things
Slip away, into the deep (Off to sleep)
The true you stays the same
You remain

Dream

There was this:

Then Zach started singing "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" (life is but a dream), which made me think of this:

So I looked up the story behind the song and found the poem which inspired it: "God God God" by Paramhansa Yogananda...

"...When boisterous storms of trials shriek,
And when worries howl at me,
I will drown their noises, loudly chanting:
God! God! God!

When my mind weaves dreams
With threads of memories,
On that magic cloth will I emboss:
God! God! God!

Every night, in time of deepest sleep,
When my peace dreams and calls, Joy! Joy! Joy!
My joy comes singing evermore:
God! God! God!..."

Like stepping stones, this stream of consciousness brings me to my most sincere wish for us all this week (and beyond) - that we may find peace and joy throughout our journey.

May the "God" of our own understanding, and the truth in our hearts, inspire and radiate Love and comfort. May we access that deepest part of the soul where dreams originate, and train ourselves to create sweet thoughts there.

T

60 Seconds of Tranquility

Sometimes the moment itself is more important than words. Here are some snapshots from this week's walks down the lane...

Hope you all had a lovely holiday and that you find moments of tranquility - even if just for a minute.

Encouragement

"Go Girl! GO!"

An elder neighbor stood in her front doorway, held up her coffee cup and cheered me on. It was everything.

I didn't feel like running that day. I had to force myself. I was just going through the motions trying to keep up with a routine. With a genuine smile and a wave back, I picked up my pace. Soon enough, I had completed my big loop and was on my way home, thinking about how nice it had been for her to spur me on like that.

"You made it! YAY!"

Before I knew it, there she was again, welcoming me back to the block. How wonderful!

I know we all know this... but what a lovely reminder it was that the simplest gesture of kindness can change the whole course of someone's day. That little act of encouragement truly made my whole week! Let's just keep it going and spread the Love a bit.

With a little encouragement...

Beautiful things can happen.

Taking Requests

We're just doing what we do.

If you have any song suggestions, please comment or message.

I'll start posting these as single posts as well, so forgive me if you see these more than once. If you're on TikTok (oh please go on TikTok, it's so much fun!), we'd love to be friends there too!

Here's wishing and praying for all of us to be a little better at kindness, understanding and Love in the weeks to come. People deal with stress and anxiety in so many different ways. A little compassion could go such a long way for others and might be there for us too, just when we need it the most.
Blessings to you and yours... Stay well. xo

Ring Ring... Hello?

Whelp. It happened again. There was only one other time that I can recall, when it escaped my attention that it was Monday and therefore blog day. My apologies.
#TuesdayIsTheNewMonday - and NOW that it's after midnight - #WednesdayIsTheNewTuesday

This is a tough time for many of us. So often we find the strength and comfort that we need to get through, by helping each other and coming together. This time we must remain separated, and "alone together" is a thing. Then came this:

- because performers and entertainers connect with people. That's what we do. That's who we are. Now, I've got some more calls to make...

and some songs to sing.

LOL (this next one)

Here's wishing us all some beautiful moments, through it all.

Please keep safe.

Love you,
T

The Everyday

We're OK. May that be the first thing you hear from loved ones as the next few weeks go by.

We went from new school protocols, to no school. From playground, to no contact with other children - not even the ones next door. From relatively normal life - to this.

As is the case for most of the world, life is changing by the minute.

Now we are heroes for keeping distance from each other, for following guidelines that require our mastery of the mundane within the walls at home.

There's a litany of things we can NOT do, but what about the things that we can? We can appreciate time together with our children. We can understand that we are all in this together. We can learn more. We can seek out positivity and do our part to promote it. We can call someone who is alone or elderly and keep them company by our conversation. We can put differences aside. We can act in a way that lifts others up and that brings us together in spirit. We can find new ways to have fun. We can do a lot to show each other love and respect.

Here's wishing health and happiness... and for the peace and comfort that comes from knowing that there are great depths of Love, Kindness, Understanding and Strength within us all.

Stay safe.
Love,
T
