#GoneFishing

Here we go... SUMMER!!!

Even though he's a little too young for the youth fishing tournament, I think this guy's got the right idea. :)

Time to clean off the grill, find a bathing suit that fits, and get out in the sun! Chaos will descend on my household as family arrives and the good times start rolling. It’s just what I signed up for, and a perfectly wonderful thing to complain about too. :)

Aquatic Weed Harvester - in action

When things get a little too crazy for me this year – I’ll go fishing. By “fishing” I mean take a walk, steal some alone time, get quiet, or momentarily disappear. Some deep breaths in nature are like a miracle cure for anything! That’s my plan and I’m sticking to it. (I’ll let you know how it works out.)

Love and sunshine!

Open to Interpretation

I don't know what it means. Any ideas?

Maybe...

Stop trying so hard to do things one particular way? You could spend your whole life trying to get through that one locked door, when clearly there's an easier way.

:)

Then there were these tiny little wild strawberries. Huge life and vitality in an itsy bitsy package.

It could be symbolic of the smallest little idea that proves to be the BEST THING EVER! Or maybe, the importance of the little things in life?

How about this one?

The meaning there seemed obvious to me.  ;)

Looking back on this week's images just makes me smile. Have a great week everyone! xo

True Story...

Once upon a time a little girl went into the woods with her grandfather looking for tadpoles. She was hoping to bring some home and raise them into little toads. They didn't find any and she went home carrying a little empty pail.

Sadly, the grandfather fell ill and passed away before they went looking for tadpoles again.

The next summer the little girl and her dad went into those same woods. They weren't looking for tadpoles, but they just happened upon a large mud puddle close to the lake. It was teeming with tadpoles and little tiny toads!

True story. I was there.

I fondly remembered the grandfather. There by the big mud puddle filled with life and amazing little jumping and wiggling creatures, it seemed as if he was right there too. It seemed as if he led his granddaughter right to that spot - to let her know he was still there, guiding her and demonstrating the beauty of life and abundance.

These kind of moments feed my soul.

In other news, a turtle, a butterfly and a refrigerator all sat on my lawn this week. There was also a certain small child who learned how to blow air through his lips the same week he started eating from a spoon. (Think about that for a second... #babyfoodinmyhair)

It's in my hair
Have a great week everyone! #gratefulforthejourney

She Was...

Her son had passed away 10 days prior. She had just been to his funeral the week before she gave the lecture on Sunday. The first words out of her mouth when she reached the podium were about how grateful she was.

She was grateful for the time she had with him. She was grateful in her knowledge that he would be with her more than ever now. (In his physical form, her adult son had moved hundreds of miles away and they didn't see each other very often.)

She spoke of how we are responsible for creating the neural pathways that make us grateful and happy. She held the congregation silent and attentive with her pure sincerity. She was an inspiration to behold.

She had addressed the physical aspect of her grief with acupuncture. She understands the depth of her love for her son. She managed to touch our hearts and lift us all up despite her immeasurable loss. She smiled as I shook her hand after the service.

Oh that we might all channel her brand of faith, love and gratitude.

Thank you - for those amazing souls who teach us how to live and love.
