Sometimes it takes so much for us to change. Can't we do better? Change can be so beautiful.
Let's do it. Let's change something - all on our own and just for the sake of improving ourselves. We don't have to wait until we are forced to. What if we found something - one little thing - that inspires us enough to step out of that comfort zone we love so much.
The day began with Zachary's voice coming from the hallway.
"RUNAWAY ORANGE!" The yell was followed by the clinkity-clink sound of a plastic toy orange rolling down the wood floor. It was time to get up and I really didn't feel like it. I had already missed the window of opportunity to exercise alone and I would have to take Zachary with me if I wanted to go for a run. I headed toward the smell of coffee in the kitchen, passing by what looked like a game of soccer with the plastic fruit.
We saw Russ off for the day and managed to collect ourselves for a "stroller run" despite the cold weather. About halfway through our trek, we saw something we had never seen before.
"Zachary! Look!" I pointed to the street just to the left of the sidewalk.
There it was - a runaway orange.
Do YOU believe in coincidences? I was pretty certain that this preschool-aged kid had just manifested an actual orange and we continued our run with a discussion about how important it is to cultivate intentional thought and how manifestation does not always result in a physical object appearing so quickly.
We think of it as being similar to the way you can imagine nice, pleasant, and calming thoughts before bedtime in order to have a peaceful night's sleep. Like the way we might focus our thoughts and energy in the direction we want to go with regard to any situation. The subconscious mind is a powerful tool in guiding the way of things. We need to be mindful of the thoughts and beliefs that we feed it.
Also - this week we watched the original Star Wars. The Force is with us.
Here's to wishing health and happiness into being this week! May the Force be with you.
Everyone faces challenges. Most people are dealing with a lot of them right now. It would serve us well to remember that.
It's so easy to be frustrated or angry with someone who isn't being as kind as we would like. Maybe we could expand our patience a bit. Things are hard for almost everyone.
Self-deception: the action or practice of allowing oneself to believe that a false or unvalidated feeling, idea, or situation is true. (Google, Definitions from Oxford Languages)
Isn't it funny how we can easily see things in OTHER people, before we see it in ourselves?
Wouldn't the world be a better place if we all improved ourselves by increasing our ability to be honest with ourselves?
So many untruths... so many people believing them... We should just stop.
"Never Give Up" can become "Never Give Up Quitting" under different circumstances. Shortly after posting the above on Instagram, I saw a different picture which completely changed the story.
I am reminded that nothing is absolute except for perfect Love. May that be our aim.
When dipping into the "positivity" algorithm, it's important to remember that everything might not be for you. Take what speaks to you and toss the rest. YOU are the master of your own destiny. YOU are in control of your own thoughts. YOU guide your own path by the choices you make - even the little choices, or what may SEEM little. Your perception is everything. It becomes your reality. Choose how to see things, intentionally.
