Moontime

Did you all see the "supermoon" eclipse last night? A sight to behold...

As timing would have it, the video I have been working on, like crazy, involves "super" AND "moon" (you'll see what I mean soon). I've been immersed in images of the moon and stars for weeks, working on the video project.

Last night's moon had me outside taking more pictures, smiling at the significance of its timing, and reflecting.

"Three things shine before the world and cannot be hidden.
They are the moon, the sun, and the truth...
- Buddha

"I think we're going to the moon
because it's in the nature of the human being to face challenges.
It's by the nature of his deep inner soul...
we're required to do these things
just as salmon swim upstream."
- Neil Armstrong

"I love to think that animals and humans and plants and fishes and trees
and stars and the moon are all connected."
- Gloria Vanderbilt

"Here men from the planet Earth first set foot upon the Moon.
July 1969 AD. We came in peace for all mankind."
- Neil Armstrong

"And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star..."
"Somewhere Out There"
- Written by: James Horner, Barry Mann, Cynthia Weil

This week, I'll remember moontime and its reflections: the strength and force of the Universe, the depth of our inner callings, the ways in which we are all connected, history's significance, and the guiding spirit of music. I'll work hard and be strengthened and energized by the knowledge that we all share in these - each and every one of us.

The Surround

Looking back on last week, I am filled with gratitude and appreciation for the most wonderful group of creative people I have been Blessed to work with.

"Surround yourself with only people who are going to lift you higher."
- Oprah Winfrey

It was a busy week with video shoots, props, costumes, travel planning and gig performance. Through it all, there were teams of creative minds coming together to make artistic endeavors come to life like magic. I loved every minute.

"When I was a kid, there was no collaboration; its you with a camera bossing your friends around. But as an adult, filmmaking is all about appreciating the talents of the people you surround yourself with and knowing you could never have made any of these films by yourself."
- Steven Spielberg

Teamwork is beautiful! When we build upon each other's ideas and push ourselves and each other to keep making everything "even better," the most amazing things happen.

On location shot - for one of our scenes

Here's to an upcoming week filled with inspiration and collaborative efforts! My most sincere thanks to everyone who has contributed to our upcoming new song and video. It is a true honor and Blessing to be able to work together with all of you.

There IS

My sincere thanks to Louise Hay for her calendar page today...

If I say it enough times, it will be true.

This week, I am going to get an amazing amount of things done. I'll even have time to play with Play-Doh...

My Play-Doh ice cream... (I swear, it was for work - LOL -
Can hardly wait to tell you about that project, coming soon...)
That is the plan.

Here's to enjoying the journey and making it fun!

Remember the Polka Dots...

Last week, I had the distinct privilege and honor of working with a group of awesome kids! (Tell you all about that project next month.)

At one point, I was sitting at a table coloring with a three-year-old little boy. He was showing me the car he drew and indicating which parts he wanted me to color in for him. There was a mass of dots right in the middle and I wasn't sure if he wanted me to color over them. I asked him what they were.

"Polka dots," he said, as if I should have known.
"Oh! I forgot about polka dots," was my reply.

As I heard the words come out of my mouth, I was stunned. How could I forget about polka dots!!!??? To the other adult in the room, I said, "How sad is that? I FORGOT about polka dots." She agreed that it was indeed pretty sad.

"I remember," said my little friend. He was telling me that it was ok. He had my back. He would remember the polka dots and all would be well.

I smiled. "Good job. Good job remembering the polka dots."

He might as well have been talking about magic or imaginary friends, superheroes, fairies, angels, Santa Claus, even God - or any of the wonderful things children believe in without hesitation. I certainly wouldn't want to forget about any of those, and I don't want to forget about polka dots either. How could polka dots have left my mind? I decided to blog about the polka dots, even though I had PLANNED on writing about "awareness."

I just had some housecleaning to do before sitting down to write today's blog. I pulled out the step stool to dust a shelf and noticed something...

HA! Polka dots! I was still thinking about it when I got in the shower...

HA again!

Then I started looking around deliberately. There was my little cosmetic bag...

The tab on the larger one that I keep shampoo in...

and how about the pattern on the side?

The handle on my old travel bag...

I remembered this dress...

The kitchen cabinet...

My coffee cup...

I had just gone to the grocery store...

Check out my seat cushion!

When you look around for them, you find them everywhere! (So I guess this blog IS about awareness after all.)

I suppose it's the same way with miracles, angels, positive energy, and even God. When you look around for them, you discover they were always right there. Sometimes, we just aren't paying attention. :)

I took these pics last week, before I was noticing the polka dots...

"The eye sees only what the mind is prepared to comprehend."
- Robertson Davies

"All prosperity begins in the mind and is dependent only upon full use of the imagination."
- Ruth Ross

Here's wishing you a wonderful week filled with polka dots - and whatever else you're looking for.
